Josef Faderl After finishing his master degree in physics at Johannes-Kepler University in Linz (Austria), Josef Faderl joined voestalpine in 1988 as a research engineer (topic of master degree: Boron- and nitrogen-ion implantation for improvement of tribological and corrosion behavior of steel slide valves). His first job at voestalpine was to set up a hot-dip galvanizing laboratory and to create a knowledge base on hot-dip galvanizing. In 1993 Mr. Faderl was put in charge of leading the R&D group responsible for hot-dip and electro-galvanizing, surface technology issues (cleaning, phosphate treatment, H-Embrittlement,) and special (coating) technologies (enameling, press hardening resp. hot forming, PVD).
