Kazuhiro Seto

Kazuhiro Seto is a Vice President of JFE Steel Corporation. He is an Assistant Director of Steel Research Laboratory and Sheet Business Planning Department. He has earned his Bachelor and Master of Engineering degrees from the Department of Materials Engineering in the University of Tokyo in 1984 and 1986, respectively. He was assigned as a researcher of Sheet Steel Laboratory in Kawasaki Steel (former JFE Steel) in 1986, and then assumed the present post in 2015. He has been active in the development of high strength steel including coated steel for automotive use. He spent a couple of years in Oxford University to analyze grain boundary segregation in interstitial free steels with 3D atom probe tomography from 1996 to 1998. He has earned his Doctor of Engineering degree from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in Kyushu University in 2010. He is currently a director of The Iron and Steel Institute of Japan, and a representative of The Japan Institute of Metals and Materials.
